The University of Tennessee
Head, Immersive Spaces & Technologies
Knoxville, TN
Hi, I am the Head of Immersive Spaces & Technologies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Libraries. In this position, I get to work with a wonderful diverse group of faculty and staff. Our department runs multiple service points including The Studio, our media production and design lab; the Medbery Makerspace; and eXperience Point, our esports lab. We also have a group of Social Sciences Librarians that support innovation and creativity in the Colleges of Architecture and Design, Business, and Communication and Information. I enjoy providing support for creative projects, promoting media literacy, and exploring creative communication of research. I received a Master’s in Information Sciences from the University of Tennessee and have a degree in Music Education from Florida State University. My research interests include exploring ways to facilitate the creative process; how library services can impact and support learning; library assessment; and the intersections of civility and diversity in communities. I am a mom, a huge Frank Zappa fanatic, and an avid reader of science fiction.
